may have fans guessing about whether she'll walk down the aisle, but inside the pages of the Elle U.K. she revealed why she originally said "yes" when "Hunger Games" star Liam Hemsworth popped the question last year.
"We have a house together and dogs. It just seems right to be wearing this ring and to be committed," she explains in the June issue, out May 1. "But, we keep our relationship low-key and don't talk about it anymore."
Back in March, when rumors began to surface that she and Hemsworth had split up, she took to Twitter to shoot down the speculation. At the time, she also revealed she'd be "taking a break from social media." While it remains unclear when this interview was given, Cyrus has always tried to put the rumors to bed, even tweeting out a photograph wearing her engagement ring on March 20, after she stopped wearing the bling to get it repaired.
From now on, she plans on keeping her personal life as private as possible, she told Elle. "We were too nice to the world and gave them too much insight — into my life and my puppies and my house — and I just don't feel they get that privilege anymore," she says. "Like on my Twitter, I'm much more... not conservative, but you don't see a picture of my dogs. You don't get that personal stuff anymore."
And while she hasn't gone completely silent on Twitter, she has refocused the conversation back on her music and her forthcoming 2013 album release, which will include her lead single with Snoop Lion.
The album marks a new chapter for Cyrus as she puts her Disney days behind her. But she still remembers her "Hannah Montana" fame and told the mag how swept up she was during one particular event.
"I don't remember my 'Hannah Montana' movie premiere — and my 3D movie trumped everyone's at the box office [in 2008]— I don't remember being there. All I remember from that night is that I stopped and got a strawberry milkshake beforehand. That's all," she said. "It's crazy. You think you're in the present but you're not."
It was that experience that led her to dole out some important career and life advice to Justin Bieber. She said, "I noticed he was taking all these photos of people and doing a lot of sh--, and I just grabbed him and said, 'Just take a snapshot in your brain of this moment, so you don't forget'."
