A MILEY Cyrus song nominated for a Grammy has been withdrawn from the Best Song Written For A Soundtrack category.
The song, The Climb, was nominated for its appearance in Hannah Montana: The Movie, but was pulled when the nominating panel discovered that it was not originally written for the film.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the song was written by Jon Mabe and Jessi Alexander, who shopped it around to a number of country music artists before it landed in Cyrus's movie.
The official nomination has now gone to the entry with the next highest number of votes, which is All Is Love by Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, written for Where the Wild Things Are.
It was also reported today that Cyrus wants to do a cover version of '80s rock song 'Every Rose Has Its Thorn' by Poison.
The band's frontman Bret Michaels is reportedly in line to assist Cyrus in re-recording it.
Her mother Tish said: "'Every Rose' is one of her all-time favourite songs and she is really excited about cutting it."
