Miley Cyrus is "fine" but "concerned" for her younger sister in the wake of her parents' divorce.
The 20-year-old star's mother Tish filed for divorce from Billy Ray Cyrus after 19 years of marriage on Thursday, according to TMZ.
Miley was thrust into the spotlight hours after the news broke. She had a promotional appearance already scheduled at a Chicago radio station Friday afternoon.
According to B96 Radio entertainment reporter Michelle Menaker, Miley managed to be upbeat on-air.
Behind-the-scenes she was apparently showing concern for her 13-year-old sibling, Noah.
When asked about the divorce, Miley said, "Oh, I'm fine. I'm okay," Michelle told People magazine.
"I'm much more concerned for my sister [Noah]. She's 13," Miley reportedly added.
Noah appeared to be distressed about her parents' divorce when she took to Twitter Friday.
"Please pray for me and my family," she wrote.
Tish has requested full custody of Noah, offering Billy visitation rights, according to TMZ.
She is also seeking spousal support and reimbursement of attorney's fees.
Tish cited "irreconcilable differences" in her filing, which came three years after Billy filed for divorce. The pair instead stayed together and tried to work things out.
The former couple share five children together, including Miley and Noah. The other three children are already adults.
Miley is meanwhile focussed on promoting her new single, We Can't Stop.
The radio jockey was impressed by her professionalism.
"With everything that's happened, she was very nice and really didn't seem affected. If she was, she was covering it up really well," Michelle told People. "We really enjoyed having her."
