Miranda Lambert sweeps CMA nominations

Miranda Lambert is in with a chance of scooping Female Vocalist of the Year and Entertainer of the Year at the Country Music Awards in November.

The musician has received a nomination in each of the prestigious categories as the first wave of nods was revealed on Good Morning America today, the rest later following on the CMA website.

Awkwardly, she'll go head to head with estranged husband Blake Shelton in the Musical Event of the Year category. Earlier this year they announced they were divorcing after four years of marriage, but it looks like there'll be no escaping each other at the ceremony in Nashville, Tennessee, on November 4.

Miranda received a nod for her Smokin' and Drinkin' performance with Little Big Town, while Blake is being recognised for Lonely Tonight with Ashley Monroe.

Vying for the Female Vocalist of the Year prize alongside Miranda are Kacey Musgraves, Carrie Underwood, Lee Ann Womack and Kelsea Ballerini, who announced the nominations on GMA.

In the Entertainer of the Year category she faces competition from Garth Brooks, Luke Bryan, Kenny Chesney and Eric Church.

Blake is also up for Male Vocalist of the Year alongside Luke, Eric, Chris Stapleton and Dierks Bentley.

Miranda also has a mention for Music Video of the Year with Little Red Wagon.

Carrie and Brad Paisley will host proceedings.
