Kevin Shields, leader of My Bloody Valentine, has said that the band is preparing to go into the studio to record a new EP.
On Thursday night after a London gig, Shields revealed that he was "working on some new songs at the moment" and that "we plan on going into the studio October/November time."
Fans, of course, are probably skeptical as it's only been a little over a year since their last album, m b v, which landed near the top of many critic's lists last year. That album was the first newly recorded output from the band in 21 years.
Still, the band seemed reinvigorated creatively in the last couple of years, so it's entirely possible they may carry through with a new release, possibly direct to fans from their website as they did with m b v.
