Nicole Kidman reveals her gambling secret

Nicole Kidman is a keen gambler but is "disciplined" with her bets.

The 48-year-old actress joined her husband Keith Urban at the Academy of Country Music Awards (ACMs) in Las Vegas, Nevada on Sunday night (03Mar16).

Nicole looked stunning in a floor-length Alexander McQueen gown as she posed on the red carpet with her spouse at the annual prize giving ahead of his incredible performance of new track Wasted Time.

Speaking to reporters ahead of the ceremony, Nicole and Keith admitted they are certainly no strangers to Sin City, and often enjoy jaunts to what is known as the gambling capital of the world.

They also enjoy having a flutter, but Keith insists Nicole is very restrained when it comes to placing her bets.

"She's very good," Keith said. "She's disciplined."

But Nicole added to Entertainment Tonight: "Well I'm not very good. I have a little amount of money, I go and bet that and then I'm done. I'm that kind of gambler, I'm not going to bet the house."

Nicole also spoke about Keith's upcoming album Ripcord. The record is due for release on 6 May (16), and the Oscar-winning actress promises fans they won't be disappointed with his latest offering.

"It is such a crazy good album," Nicole said. "I've been living with all the songs -- and even the songs that didn't make the album. I've seen the work he puts into it and the love. He's a musician, so every little tiny detail is all him, and I love that. I love that he's passionate about his music."

Keith has been working hard to ensure Ripcord is the best it can be, and to do so, he worked with a host of big names, including Chic star Nile Rodgers.

One track that Keith worked on with Nile and producer Mike Busbee is titled Sun Don't Let Me Down, which features a tribute to the singer's actress wife Nicole.

"In the end of the first verse, it actually references my wife," Keith told Rolling Stone magazine recently. "She's in a movie called To Die For and in one scene she's dancing in front of the headlights (of a car). So the lyric goes, 'There in the headlights, dancing like she's in a movie scene. To die for, and she's killing me'."
