NICOLE RICHIE has given birth to a baby boy - and named him Sparrow.
The 27-year-old socialite and her rocker boyfriend Joel Madden welcomed Sparrow James Midnight Madden to the world yesterday morning in Los Angeles.
Announcing the news on her blog, Richie said: "In the middle of the night, the very early hours of September 9, 2009 Sparrow James Midnight Madden was born to Nicole Richie and Joel Madden.
"He weighs 7 pounds and 14 ounces. Nicole, Joel, Harlow and Sparrow are all doing well. Thank you for all of your good wishes."
It is the second child for the pair, who have one-year-old girl Harlow Winter Kate Madden.
