Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor is to offer free music via the torrent services. The band's first offering comes from its new instrumental record, Ghosts.
Reznor said:
"Now that we're no longer constrained by a record label, we've decided to personally upload Ghosts I, the first of the four volumes, to various torrent sites, because we believe BitTorrent is a revolutionary digital distribution method, and we believe in finding ways to utilize new technologies instead of fighting them."
Fans can download a nine-track version for free or pick up the four-volume set for a $5, via NIN's official site NIN.com, which has been bombarded to a virtual stop.
