One Direction were reportedly "one of the first" to congratulate Simon Cowell on his alleged baby.
The music mogul is reported to be expecting a child with Lauren Silverman, who is the wife of one of his friends. She is said to be around ten weeks along and is getting divorced from Andrew Silverman.
Over the weekend Simon jetted to Las Vegas to watch British group One Direction perform. He helped discover them on the UK version of The X Factor and watched on proudly as they took to the stage, following claims they are to become the first boyband to make $1 billion.
"Simon had a good laugh with the boys. They were pleased to be among the first to congratulate him on his baby news and were very happy to see him," an insider told British newspaper The Sun.
Singers Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson paid tribute to Simon during their show, although in a rather cheeky way.
"They were doing Simon impersonations. He looked very proud of the band during the show," a source laughed.
Simon is now travelling to the south of France, where he will enjoy a yachting holiday around St. Tropez.
Lauren isn't joining him, with claims the star doesn't plan to see her until her messy divorce is finalised. Andrew has filed papers to end the marriage, naming Simon in them and citing adultery as the reason for the split.
It's claimed Simon and Lauren haven't seen each other for around four weeks and he will also not be joined by any of his usual friends while on holiday. He is known for vacationing with his ex-girlfriends including Jackie St Clair, but on this occasion will take some time to consider what is going on in his life.
"Simon was much quieter than usual [at the concert]; he clearly has a lot on his mind. He went and surprised the One Direction boys though and chatted to them later," a source told British newspaper The Mirror.
"They were giving him a little ¬light-hearted banter and Simon made some quip about them not following suit and getting girls pregnant.
"He put on a brave face but Simon is in a very dark place. This has all hit him hard. At the moment he just wants to get away from everyone and have some down time, on his own."
While some of his ex-girlfriends won't be joining him on his £45 million yacht, there are some close pals going along. They are said to be hoping to get him through the on-going scandal.
"They've seen the signs before when he locks himself away and they are fearful he may enter in to one of his dark moods again. They are trying to keep his spirits up and avoid him cutting himself off from others and spiralling into depression," a source explained.
