One Direction fan-fic author secures $1 million book deal

One Direction fan-fiction author, Anna Todd, has secured a six figure book deal after her erotic literature based on the British boyband lothario, Harry Styles, caught the eye of a top publisher.

25-year-old Todd's debut novel, After, will hit stores later this week as a result of the writer's passion for submitting erotic fan-fic of her favourite band online. She began writing the book after publishing sexy fan fiction on free writing site Wattpad last year, telling the tale of a college freshman who falls for and has a relationship with a guy named Harry Styles.

What started initially as a fun past-time has now been transformed into a 2500 page novel backed by a $1 million publishing deal from Simon and Shuster's Gallery Books. The series will have four installments and looks set to feature far longer sex scenes than those on Wattpad, although Style's name will be changed to Hardin Scott to avoid any messy lawsuit scenarios.

Obviously cashing in on the appetite for 'erotic fiction', the series must be hoping to match the success of other genre-defying series (E.L James' 'Fifty Shades of Grey' springs to mind) and if it does, then this young lady looks set to become very wealthy indeed...
