One Direction fans in ticket frenzy

Following this afternoon's announcement of further countries and UK and Ireland dates being added to One Direction's Where We Are tour, viagogo, the world's largest ticket marketplace, has recorded over two thousand searches per minute as frantic fans hope to catch their pop idols in action.

The boys have announced they will visit Sweden, Denmark, France, the Netherlands, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Spain and Portugal, as well as adding three extra dates in the UK and Ireland. viagogo's international websites have already registered nearly 200,000 searches from Spain to Switzerland as fans seek to snap up the sought-after tickets.

According to data from viagogo, the most dedicated Directioners in Europe are from the UK, closely followed by Spain.

The top five European countries searching for 1D tickets are:

viagogo spokesperson Steve Roest said: "Announcing the European leg of their Where We Are tour has given Directioners another opportunity to get their hands on tickets to 1D's biggest ever shows. As our data has illustrated, fans are even more determined to get tickets to see the boys this time round."
