One Direction announced the first dates of their Where We Are stadium tour today.
The boy band revealed the first set of locations for their performances scheduled for 2014 through Twitter.
Bandmates Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne used the hashtag #OneBigAnnouncement to drive traffic on Twitter to their website where the news was broadcast.
"One Direction are extremely excited to announce their 2014 Where We Are stadium tour! The first dates have been released and can be viewed below. Don't worry if you don't see your country - more dates will be added very soon! Keep checking this site for more information!" the statement revealed along with the teaser more news is to follow. "Another #OneBigAnnouncement coming soon!"
One Direction's fans are known for their devotion to the group and it was never more apparent than today. There was such a surge of traffic to the website when the announcement was due it crashed for a short while.
An exciting video on YouTube shows the grandeur of the stadium tour the boys are set to embark on. The clip announces that Spain's Camp Nou stadium in Barcelona will be one of the venues visited by One Direction next year.
The 100,000 capacity makes this the largest stadium in Europe and the 11th largest in the world.
Released dates so far are for the United Kingdom, Ireland and Latin America, with the tour dates as follows:
