As we inch closer to the November 13 release of One Direction's new album, Take Me Home, we're getting more details about the tracks and the tone of the record.
In addition to first single "Live While We're Young" and two songs by hitmaker Ed Sheeran, superproducer Dr. Luke is also working on a track for the boys.
"I'm finishing up the mix today," Luke told on Tuesday. "They're a huge phenomenon and they're good!" he said, adding that the first time he heard the track, he thought it sounded like an instant hit. "It's not uptempo. It's a song that some of my writers came up with. I heard it and I loved it. One of my producers, Kojak, and Peter Svensson and Sam Hollander wrote this song, and I was like, 'Wow, this is so good.' I'm pleased to be a part of it. It's nice when you hear music and you immediately like it."
Luke is also looking forward to spending some actual time with the band. "I haven't been able to meet them yet," he admitted. "I had one of my producer/songwriters Emily Wright record them in England. She did that for me and is a hit songwriter in her own right."
The producer is keeping himself plenty busy these days. Luke lent his producing powers to Ke$ha's new track "Die Young" and her upcoming album Warrior, in addition to his past hits for Britney Spears ("Hold It Against Me") and Katy Perry ("Teenage Dream," "Part of Me," "Last Friday Night") and wants to make sure we keep our eye out for up-and-coming artist Becky G.
"She's amazing. If you don't know who she is, go to her Becky G channel. Simon Cowell said she was a future star. will.i.am has done stuff with her [including a song on the 'Hotel Transylvania' soundtrack]. She's phenomenal."
