It's not exactly a collaboration many people would have predicted, but it seems One Direction are teaming up with Good Charlotte on new music.
Good Charlotte's Joel Madden posted a picture on Instagram with his brother Benji and One Direction's Liam Payne yesterday (8 March). Benji and One Direction's Louis Tomlinson also both tweeted to confirm that the bands are working together.
Great working with the Good Charlotte boys today !!
Good day today w/ @Louis_Tomlinson and @Real_Liam_Payne lotta laughs #1D #Directioners their new album is crazy. homies!! #Noice
It's unclear in what capacity the two bands are collaborating, but it seems likely, given Benji Madden's declaration that One Direction's new album is "crazy", that it's related to the British boy band's new material.
One Direction were manufactured by The X Factor in 2010, finishing third in the series, and going on to achieve phenomenal international success. The band achieved the rare feat of success in the US, and their most recent album Midnight Memories has thus far sold just over a million copies across the pond.
Meanwhile, American pop punk band Good Charlotte formed in 1996, and have released five albums. Their most recent, Cardiology, was released nearly four years ago. The band announced work on a sixth album via Twitter last year, and have said that they hope to have completed it by summer.
