Escaping the advances of Sharon Osbourne, finagling their way around an awkward Taylor Swift run-in, and of course, getting through the hordes of screaming fans outside, One Direction made their way to the 2013 Brit Awards stage. The boy band amplified their cover of Blondie's "One Way or Another," complete with five-part harmony and explosions.
Harry kicked off the performance, matching his mates Liam, Zayn, Louis and Niall in black suits sans tie (don't want to copy JT!). Each guy was embellished with red details as they hopped and skidded around in 1D style.
The "Teenage Kicks" version of "One Way" is One Direction's contribution to Comic Relief, a U.K. charity that helps aid those affected by famine in Africa. Although the song was leaked early, it was officially released on Sunday.
The guys belted out the peppy track while bouncing on a giant pinball machine, with a bevy of lights beamed around them. A collage of images rose up behind the group, featuring a large "Zap!" It looked quite familiar, too — probably because the Batman-like splat is tattooed on Zayn's forearm. Sparks flew from the ceiling as 1D strolled by the camera, flashing their gleaming smiles for those watching at home. And with one final explosion, the teens were finished, on to release the video for the track on Thursday.
