Paris Hilton has hit back at "haters" who say she doesn't DJ live.
While there may be a 7,000-strong petition underway to have her booted from the line-up of this year's Summerfest 2015, the 34-year-old is taking it all in her stride.
Chatting with Billboard magazine during Sirius XM's 808 Music Lounge at the W Hotel South Beach in Miami, the socialite took the opportunity to defend her DJing, revealing she's been honing her skills since she was just 15 years old.
"There are so many rumours out there; people who think that I don't play live. There are so many haters that make up so many stories. But anybody who comes and sees a show and watches behind the booth will see I know exactly what I'm doing. I've been training so hard for the past five years," she explained.
"I love music. I love entertaining people. I love partying. I love having a good time and having people around me have a great time."
The party-loving star is also a savvy businesswoman, with partnerships in hotels as well as having developed clothing and accessory lines. She says it's a balance, juggling her more serious duties during the day and letting loose behind the DJ booth in the evening.
Though she's just wrapped her residency at Amnesia Ibiza, she still holds one at Harrah's in Atlantic City and is on the precipice of announcing a new residency in Las Vegas, though she "can't say where yet".
While she's still relatively new to the scene, Paris's passion for music developed at a young age. And while many assumed her foray into music, with the release of 2006's poorly-received album Paris, would be fleeting, she turned things around when she took the next natural step into DJing.
"When I moved to New York City, I was 15 years old. I started going to Roseland and all these different raves and really loving this music from a very young age. I love going to festivals, because I feel like it's kind of like my alter ego: like that raver Barbie vibe," she laughed.
