Paul Weller will release his 12th album 'Saturns Pattern' through iconic UK label Parlophone.
Warner Music purchased Parlophone in the carve-up of EMI into Universal. The label was founded in Germany 1895 as Parlophon and purchased by Columbia Graphone Company in 1927 which became Electrical & Musical Industries Ltd aka EMI) in 1931.
For decades Parlophone was used as EMI's spoken-word and comedy label. In 1950, 24-year old George Martin joined the company and in 1955 was promoted to label manager. The direction of the label changed in 1965 when Martin signed The Beatles to Parlophone.
Today, Parlophone is the recording home of Coldplay, Damon Albarn, Lily Allen and Kylie Minogue.
Paul Weller is the latest signing to the historic label.
'Saturns Patterns' will feature his touring band Steve Cradock, Andy Crofts, Ben Gordelier and Steve Pilgrim plus guest musicians The Strypes' Josh McClorey and Steve Brookes who was guitarist in the original line-up of The Jam.
