Paul Weller has told the Irish Examiner that he thought Nirvana were "f***ing rubbish".
Speaking about his re-emergence as a solo artist and the grunge era, the Modfather said,
"You'd had all that shoegazing bollocks and then the whole Nirvana thing, which I thought was fucking rubbish – it was just America catching up with punk rock 20 years too fucking late for me, you know".
The Britpop era which followed prove to be a far happier time for Weller.
"That was the first time ever that I'd felt any kinship with any musicians – even though they were all probably at least ten years younger than me."
So what do you think? Does the Modfather have a point, or is he just being a negative creep?
