Babyshambles singer Pete Doherty is a good father.
The troubled rocker - who has publicly battled heroin and crack cocaine addiction - is "very involved" in the life of his five-year-old son Astile, whose mother is Kill City singer Lisa Moorish.
Lisa - who also has a daughter Molly, 10, with Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher - says Pete loves to spend time with both her children.
She said: "Pete's a very good father. He wasn't very hands-on when Astile was younger but now he's very involved.
"He is very much his father and Molly has a great relationship with him too. He told her, 'I'm your stepdad and there for you.' I love him for that.
"She feels security from him, which is nice as, emotionally, she doesn't get that from her own dad."
Lisa only recently started to allow Pete - who now lives in a country house in Wiltshire after a number of stints in rehab and jail - to have regular contact with his son, after he convinced her he was getting his life on track.
She added to Hello! magazine: "Peter has on-and-off problems with his recovery so it was a really difficult decision to make. But when he came out of rehab last year, moved here and started to get his life in order I thought the time was right."
However, Pete's recovery isn't going as well as Lisa might think. He is currently being evicted from his nine-bedroom house by its owner, the Earl of Cardigan, because of his squalid living conditions.
The drive is reportedly littered with empty tins, bottles and beer cans, graffiti is scrawled on the walls, the floor is covered with rubbish and white powder and the halls are filled with overflowing litter trays from Pete's 13 cats.
The earl said: "It's high time Mr Doherty found somewhere else to live. Enough is enough. We have had quite a few problems with him."
