Rock Renaissance (RockRen) is an exclusive night that see�s the worlds of art and music collide in an event that is fast becoming the must attend underground party in London. Having recently teamed up with Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy charity, this exclusive invite only party (go to www.rockren.co.uk) is a cultural celebration of some of the best known and most anticipated new talent in their respective worlds.
This sporadic underground event has seen performances in the past from The Kooks, The Mystery Jets, The Neon Empire and Frank Turner. This time the world of art is being brought to RockRen by the brilliant Phil Stein and the renowned Grant Kennedy�
Phil Stein is one of the most exciting artists to come out of New York. Currently exhibiting his London series which he has created exclusively for RockRen. This is an opportunity to see his vision of London in which he uses random fragmentation�s from video and internet streams to create unique and thought provoking imagery. Phil�s work on cityscapes from around the world has become internationally recognised, www.philstein.com.
World renowned artists Grant Kennedy has an incredible reputation that keeps growing and growing. Originally from Zimbabwe he moved to London in 1988 and is a major part of the underground art scene. With commissions all over the world, he describes his work as �Human Beings And Other Animals� because half of his work is dedicated to capturing the very essence of the myriad wildlife of his native country, the other half will be on displayed live on the night� the human figure, Grant will be creating a portrait of Culture Club�s Jon Moss.
The live music for the evening will be coming from some established names as well as some of the most exciting young talent to grace the underground music scene at the moment... Rubber Kiss Goodbye, The Screaming Lights, The Neon Empire, Bob Weston, Kristian Marr and Pete Doherty.
Inspired by a wide range of artists from Bob Dylan to The Clash, Rubber Kiss Goodbye are a three piece rock band from London. With a rich heritage that has seen band members play in bands as wide ranging as Roxy Music and Babyshambles, they are one of the most exciting bands around at the moment.
The Neon Empire has steadily been taking Britain by storm since 2008 by mixing rock, funk, and progressive rock � showcasing a beautifully masterful collage of Muse, Led Zeppelin, Kings of Leon and Hendrix with giant-sized confidence.
A four-piece from Liverpool, The Screaming Lights pull influences from Joy Division to Interpol. Their sound has been described as ��somehow managing to both rave and rock�, and the release of their debut album has been met with critical acclaim.
From the catwalks of Milan to the ones and twos of Home House, supermodel Ben Grimes is going to be spinning her tunes in between the live entertainment through out the evening.
Kings of Camden and controversial to the last, RockRen have brought together some of the most talked about rockers of the past 10 years to play together Pete Doherty and The Towers Of London�s Kristian Marr are stripping back to play an acoustic set.
All money raised from this premier event will be donated to The Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy charity.
