PETE DOHERTY is reportedly being privately prosecuted over the death of a man at a party in 2006.
The Babyshambles frontman was at the Christmas party in east London when a fight broke out and actor Mark Blanco fell from a balcony and died of head injuries.
Doherty was under speculation at the time that he and two of his friends were involved in the incident.
His bodyguard confessed to murder but later retracted his police statement.
Police have ruled out a suspicious death, but Doherty now faces a private investigation launched by Blanco's mother.
Her barrister confirmed: "The Blanco family is considering a private prosecution."
