Pete Doherty has opened up about his recent tribute to Amy Winehouse.
The singer paid tribute to Amy Winehouse during his headline set at the Festival Republic tent at the Reading and Leeds festival last weekend (August 27), performing a cover of her track ‘Tears Dry On Their Own’.
Speaking to Blagsound.com, Doherty said: ''A couple of years ago when she first released it there was an idea kicked about that I was going to do an alternate version. I did actually write some alternate verses and record them but in the end no-one seemed to like it so it disappeared. But I've always loved that song, it's a f*cking amazing tune and I've always wanted to do some tribute.''
This year’s Reading and Leeds festival saw headline performances from Muse, My Chemical Romance, The Strokes and Pulp.
