Pete Doherty still loves Kate Moss.
The Babyshambles rocker, who split from the British supermodel over a year ago, realises he will never win Kate back but admits he would be overcome if she ever attempted a reconciliation.
He said: "It's over. But whether or not I'm over it, I'm not sure. It's so hard talking about someone you love after you have split up.
"It's painful to rake up those old emotions. Today I'll say I'm over it but if she walked in and shouted, 'Oi k**bhead, let's go', I don't really know what I'd do.
"I'd go, but not with her. I would just go and cry somewhere. It's over. It's gone." Despite his sadness about the break-up, the rocker currently has his sights on another woman – and is even trying to give up drugs for her.
He said: "I'm currently surrounded by people who just won't tolerate me doing drugs, which is a good thing for me. "There's a girl I'm quite interested in at the moment – I won't mention her name – but I can't do drugs when I'm around her. And I'm spending more and more time with her."
Pete also revealed he has written to close friend Amy Winehouse's jailed husband, Blake Fielder-Civil to assure him his relationship with the 'Rehab' singer is purely platonic.
He added to Live magazine: "I bumped into someone who said, 'Blake's not happy with you. He said he knows you're after Amy and he's gonna sort you out.' I wrote to him that night.
"I said, 'Blake mate, I love the pair of you. I've got no interest in Amy like that and I hope you know that.' He wrote back saying, 'Don't listen to what anyone says, I know it's not true.'
"Oddly, since then I've heard that he's offered people money to hurt me. I hope that's just ex-cons selling stories. Blake should give me the money. He should know I'd kill myself for five grand."
Pete says he hopes to record a song with Amy one day – but admits she is less than enthusiastic about his talents.
He explained: "I'm kind of in awe of her. I'd like to collaborate with her but last time I was round there and we were jamming she said, 'Play me some of your new ideas.' So I played her my best new riff and she said, 'Well, you're not inspired are you?' So she p***ed on my bonfire a bit."
