Pete Doherty has revealed he will be using Amy Winehouse lyrics for his new solo album.
The former Libertines frontman has announced that he will be using his late friend’s lyrics in his new song ‘Bird Cage’, from his new solo record. The singer will duet with Suzi Martin on the track.
Producer Adem Hilmi spoke to NME, revealing the line written by Winehouse goes, ‘We could never be together, I'm too pretty, you're too clever'.
Pete Doherty also revealed that the six other songs from the LP will be called, ‘Down For The Outing, Siberian Fur, Nothing Come To Nothing, Shine A Light On Your Misery, Ba Ba Ba’ and ‘Dust On The Road’.
Speaking to NME, Doherty said, “I've got a hard drive full of new songs and a few of them have taken more of a definite shape”.
“Things that were ad libs and off the cuff, we're putting more into traditional song structure.”
Pete Doherty and Amy Winehouse would spend a lot of time together penning down lyrics and painting, with Doherty selling their joint artworks, created with the duo's blood, at auction for £35,000, earlier this month.
