Peter Kay has said that he has written a film version of Phoenix Nights.
Kay played nightclub owner Brian Potter in the Channel 4 sitcom, which ran from 2001 to 2002.
Following the success of The Inbetweeners Movie, Kay's old show could be the next Channel 4 show to make the leap onto the big screen.
He told Real Radio North West: "It's written, I've written it. It's done. They've even asked me, with this Inbetweeners film, if you want to make a film of it.
"The biggest problem is getting everyone together."
The biggest problem would lie in the fact that, following the success of the show, Kay and co-star Dave Spikey fell out, with Spikey claiming that Kay took all of the credit, despite Phoenix Nights being something of a team effort.
The Inbetweeners Movie has become the most successful British comedy movie of all time, having taken £39.4 million a the box office in the first month of release.
