The Pittsburgh Steelers will make a cameo appearance in The Dark Knight Rises.
It was already known that Christopher Nolan would be shooting at the NFL team's Heinz Field stadium, but star quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has now revealed that he and a small number of teammates will actually feature in the closing part of the Batman trilogy.
He told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette: "I'm kind of getting everybody together. I heard it's going to be a neat thing at the stadium. I don't think it will be a big part, it's not like we're chasing Batman down or anything."
Roethlisberger explained that the Steelers will stand in for a fictional Gotham team.
He explained: "From what I've heard, it's going to be like a pre-game, warming-up type thing. I don't know the whole concept. There's a Gotham team, a football game. We'll be wearing uniforms. It will be fun."
The Dark Knight Rises, which stars Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway and others, is released on July 20, 2012.
