Tyler, the Creator has made no secret of his affinity for the Neptunes and anything Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo have ever produced or anyone that may have sat under the Star Trak umbrella. So if it looks like newly-minted VMA nominee Tyler is having the time of his life as he and Star Trak alum Pusha T drive through Beverly Hills, sporting black tees and ski masks while egging shoppers, he probably is.
The video for Pusha and Tyler's "Trouble on My Mind" debuted Wednesday at midnight on MTV Jams. The Jason Goldwatch-directed video juxtaposes Pusha and Tyler in each other's worlds. After the two stalk Rodeo Drive the ski-masked way, Tyler's verse transports him and his idol to Downtown L.A., where they cruise what looks like Skid Row with a few skaters, homeless people and Jasper Dolphin in tow.
The video was shot after Odd Future's show at L.A.'s House of Blues, where Tyler broke his foot, so he sports a cast, crutches and a motorized scooter throughout. The final two scenes take the duo to a hotel room and liquor store ripe for thrashing. They both wear the same outfit through each scene with an extra-vicious Pusha going so far as to hop along using Tyler's crutches, rocking a baseball tee and Supreme snapback.
"Trouble on My Mind" is the first offering from Pusha T's Fear of God 2: Let Us Pray EP, which will feature tracks from Pusha's Fear of God mixtape released earlier this year. The EP also includes a few new cuts, including "Trouble," and is expected to drop August 23.
