Queen Latifah is struggling to cope with her new early morning schedule.
The 43-year-old performer, real name Dana Elaine Owens, is preparing to debut her new daytime talk programme in the US.
Getting into the groove is apparently proving to be a challenge.
According to America's Star magazine, the actress is a real night owl and now she's having trouble looking fresh-faced before her call time.
"She's lived a life of late-night everything - her body does not like mornings!" a source said.
Queen Latifah does have some time to adjust, as the show doesn't premiere until next month.
Until then, she's doing everything she can to make sure she's on time for rehearsal, although so far her efforts have been in vain.
"Latifah has been drinking tons of coffee, gets wake-up calls, and bought an expensive alarm clock, but she just can't seem to get it together," the source said.
The Queen Latifah Show launches September 16.
The actress is working alongside producers Will and Jada Pinkett Smith on the project.
"You will be able to kick it with Queen Latifah every day," Jada announced on Facebook in March.
There is one topic that will be off limits.
The star says she will not address her personal life or relationships, following years of speculation about her sexuality.
"I don't feel the need to discuss my private life on this show or on any show," she recently told The Hollywood Reporter.
"There's the part of my life that the public and I share together. And there's the part that's mine to keep for myself. And that's mine. For me."
