R. KELLY is being investigated over a South African concert investment scam.
The R&B star has been linked to Durban woman Busisiwe Priscilla Zakwe, who is accused of conning investors to back plans to bring the singer to the country.
Prosecutor Blackie Swart wants to establish if Kelly had any involvement in the case and has asked for a detailed explanation from the singer himself.
He said: "I sent an email and also faxed a letter to Kelly's agent last week. We have not received any response from them yet.
"We will contact them if they do not respond because we want to deal with this matter urgently."
Zakwe, who was arrested in 2005, claims that she deposited 10.5 million South African rand (£694,400) into Kelly's bank account, but that the promised concerts never happened.
