The star is Down Under to work as a judge on the Aussie version of The X Factor.
He was recently joined in Sydney by his estranged wife, Yvonne, and their three children but they have since flown back to Ireland so the youngsters can return to school.
Ronan, who has just attended the Crown Oaks day at the Melbourne horse races, told Melbourne’s Herald Sun newspaper: “I am thinking of coming out here next year and maybe doing a year here.
“If the show [The X Factor] happens again next year I probably would do it.
“We have never talked about it [living in a different country] until we came down here and we loved it so much.
“I feel like an adopted son here, so I am very happy.”
Ronan also gave his seal of approval to the Melbourne races.
“This is the best horse racing event in the world,” he said.
“I have been to lots of them and this is the best.”
