Liverpool club The Magnet and Gold In the Shade present Soul and Jazz legend Roy Ayers live at A Weekend Affair on Sunday 8th April 2007

A Weekend Affair is the new monthly Sunday club night, where great music and intimate surroundings make for an exclusive evening with only the top names in soul, funk and jazz in attendance.

As one of the most prolific jazz-funk producers of the 70's, Roy Ayers became the undisputed champion of a sound that seemed to draw from his jazz, rhythm and blues, Latin, funk and dance music roots. Ayers has continued to write, produce and be featured in collaborations with many major artists including, Herbie Hancock, Stanley Clarke, Stevie Wonder, Lonnie Liston Smith, Puff Daddy, Whitney Houston, Mary J. Blige, and Jocelyn Brown.

Roy Ayers is, without question, a legend in his own time.
