Lady Gaga's The Sound of Music tribute left Sam Smith "crying his eyes out".
The eccentric musician took to the stage at the Oscars last night, where she belted out tracks The Sound of Music, My Favorite Things, Edelweiss and Climb Ev'ry Mountain from the musical. Afterwards Julie Andrews, who starred in the 1965 movie, embraced the singer, telling her how much she enjoyed the performance.
"Legitimately just cried my eyes out at @ladygaga 's Oscar performance. Especially when Julie Andrews walked out. Bravo gorgeous x Bravo (sic)," Sam praised Gaga on Twitter.
The 28-year-old, who recently announced her engagement to Taylor Kinney, wore a beautiful white gown for the medley. And she managed to impress hotel heiress Paris Hilton, too.
"Blown away by @LadyGaga's performance at the Oscars tonight! She looked stunning & her voice is incredible! #Killedit! (sic)," Paris tweeted.
LeAnn Rimes Cibrian called the star's rendition "stunning", while model Gigi Hadid claimed it was her favourite Oscars moment ever.
Meanwhile, Jesse Tyler Ferguson wrote: "I fully support a revival of Sound of Music with Lady Gaga. (sic)"
It seems hitting all those high notes really took it out of Gaga. The star posted a picture of herself lying on the floor in her beautiful white gown, clutching a martini cocktail in one hand.
"Me right now. What a night. Congratulations to all the nominees, performers, and winners! Let's party! (sic)," the relieved star tweeted.
