Shailene Woodley has certainly been living a dream for the past few months. For her role in "The Descendents," the young star not only got to play opposite George Clooney, but she was nominated for a Golden Globe and won an Independent Spirit Award. Not bad for her first movie role.
And even though Woodley has had a few weeks to recover, she revealed she is still in awe of all the glitz and glamour that went into attending the big events.
"Every single night you'd be at a different venue, every day you'd be at some fancy brunch, lunch or something and you'd be there and there'd be different lamp shades, different curtains, but you'd be sitting at the same table with the same exact people." Woodley told. "So it was kind of great and you get to know everyone. It became a little family that migrated to different areas."
Woodley is now gearing up for the fourth season of her hit ABC Family series, "The Secret Life of the American Teenager." Last season left off with Woodley's character, Amy, accepting the proposal of her boyfriend and baby's father, Ricky. Woodley admits that the couple will face some unexpected challenges as they deal with domestic life.
"There's a lot of ups and down," Woodley said. "I mean, she's living with Ricky full time, so I think anybody who is confined to a small space, there might be some disputes, they might be a little bit tormented by each other for a while. And they have a 2-year-old son, so I think just the drama and the hardships of raising a child at any age, but specifically as a 17- and 18-year-old, there's a lot of difficulty in that, but they find a way to make it through it."
Will the newly engaged couple find themselves walking down the aisle soon?
"I think definitely in the future. I don't know about this season, they are in the future," Woodley said. "There's a lot of pressure on Amy coming from Ricky and her family as well to get married and to set a date. And for Amy, she really likes having the ring on her finger, I think for her it was a control thing. ... She's really in no rush to move on to anything big."
And it seems Woodley is in no rush to move on to her next movie role. The young actress is patiently waiting for the right script to come along.
"I would love to do another movie, but until I read something I'm necessarily super passionate about I'm not going to jump in the wave and do a movie now," Woodley said. "But I'd rather do a small, small role in an amazing movie than a big role in a not so great movie."
