The Smithereens have scheduled 15 dates so far for this summer in support of their album 2011.
The band, which formed in 1980, still includes three of their original four members, Pat DiNizio, Jim Babjak and Dennis Diken. Only Mike Mesaros from the original lineup has left the group, replaced by Severo Jornacion.
2011 was their first album of original material since 1999's God Save the Smithereens. In between those two albums, the group released a Chrismas disc, three live albums and three tribute albums, two to the Beatles and one where they performed Tommy.
