For the second time since his recent arrest, former rap mogul Suge Knight has had his phone and visitors privileges restricted.
The reason for the most current action is sealed by the courts. Knight has been jailed since a January 29, 2015 incident in which he struck two men with his car after an argument on the set of the film Straight Outta Compton. Killed was his friend and co-founder of Heavyweight Records, Terry Carter, and injured was filmmaker Cle Sloan.
Less than two months after his jailing, prosecutors asked that all non-attorney visitors be restricted from having contact with Knight. Since that time, he has slowly won back privileges but some, unnamed, incident or incidents have forced him into an even more restricted situation.
According to Billboard, Knight has now lost all mail, phone and visitation privileges and, if he has a phone conversation with his attorneys, they are not allowed to transfer the call to any other party.
Knights year in jail has been marked by numerous incidents. He has been transported to the hospital on a number of occasions with claims running from blindness to a brain tumor. He is also on his fifth set of lawyers.
Suge Knight was a major force in west coast rap starting in the early 90's with the formation of his Death Row Records. The label helped launch the careers of such artists as Dr. Dre, Tupac Shakur and Snoop Dogg.
Knight has had numerous run ins with the police over the years. He was never charged with the murder of The Notorious B.I.G. in 1997 but many have said that he was involved. Suge spent four years in prison on a probation violation from 1997 to 2001 and was sent back in 2003 after striking a parking lot attendant to, once again, violate his probation.
He has also been implicated in drug and assault charges in a 2008 incident in Las Vegas and a 2009 robbery but was not charged in either case. He was placed on three years unsupervised probation in 2012 for driving without a license. He was facing a robbery charge in relation to an October 2014 incident when he went to jail in the car attack.
