Matt Healy of The 1975 is reportedly working on music for One Direction's fourth studio album - according to his mum.
The Manchester frontman isn't the only unlikely star to hit the studio with the X Factor boyband, however, as Vaccines frontman Justin Young, Pharrell Williams and Good Charlotte have also been involved in music projects with the chart topping singers. Healy's mum, Loose Women host Denise Welch, told Digital Spy of the 'Chocolate' star's work with One Direction, adding that she is close to Harry Styles' mum, as they both experience the same sense of loss when their sons are away from home.
"He's writing a song for them," says Welch. "I'm friends with Harry Styles's mum, Anne. I always know when she's tweeted me because I've got 27,000 of the 1D army and the 1975 army [on my timeline] and they go into meltdown."
"I can relate to Harry's mum because I know how much I miss Matthew.
"She said that Harry left home for an audition at 16 and never came home. That's how it is - four days at Christmas and that was it... I miss him desperately and sometimes I feel like I've lost him to another world."
The 1975 recently revealed an explicit video for their single 'Robbers', featuring sex, drugs and violence. Healy's work with One Direction will most likely be a little toned down and teen friendly.
