ROCK NESS organisers have today revealed the next wave of splendidly curated acts lined up to play the Highland festival this June.
Supporting THE FLAMING LIPS who headline the Main Stage for this year's inaugural Friday show is the cosmic brilliance of THE ALIENS.
On Saturday, JUST JACK brings his inimitable blend of modern British storytelling at its eloquent finest to the Main Stage and is joined by Australia's SNEAKY SOUND SYSTEM who will be performing live, while on Sunday's Main Stage young Glaswegian troubadour TOMMY REILLY is joined by raucous alt popsters BADDIES, the charming CHEW LIPS and the Rock Ness legends always guaranteed to add to the festival fun; THE CUBAN BROTHERS.
ANNIE MAC is joined by Radio 1's brightest new stars JAYMO and ANDY GEORGE whose rumbustious DJ sets are sure to go down a storm in the Clash presents Wonderland Arena on Saturday before headliners ORBITAL make a very rare live appearance and ROCK NESS Scottish festival exclusive.
It's beats galore in the Clash Arena on Sunday as some of the world's most progressive DJ collectives take to the stage including a PENDULUM DJ set & MC JAKE, LAYO and BUSHWACKA, CHASE & STATUS & MC RAGE and SCRATCH PERVERTS. They are joined by the sleek futuristic sound of THE WHIP and a hotly anticipated set from THE JAPANESE POPSTARS whose amazing energy-charged live shows will be right at home at ROCK NESS. Adding to this stellar ensemble is the return of the brilliant SOULWAX who will perform live in all their glory before headliners PLACEBO.
A big chunk of eclectic sounds will be coming out of the Fat Sams Arena on Saturday before headliners SUPER FURRY ANIMALS with the high jinks and debauchery of ALABAMA 3, the acoustic political punk of THE KING BLUES, Scotland's rustic rockers FRIGHTENED RABBIT, the ethereal sound of Liverpool's WAVE MACHINES completed by a towering inferno of blues and soul that is the awesome DETROIT SOCIAL CLUB.
The Sunday Best Arena promises to push the boundaries of electronica with the innovative additions of DUBFIRE (DEEP DISH), a DJ set from MYLO and a live set from KISSY SELL OUT who join headliner EROL ALKAN.
The SoCo Social Arena makes a welcome return to ROCK NESS for 2009 with all the exciting details due to be revealed imminently.
These acts are the latest inspired additions to the recent announcements including PLACEBO, DAVID GUETTA, PETE TONG, ZANE LOW and ROB DA BANK. In customary ROCK NESS style the very best in electronic will be boosted further this year with the quality additions of a SOMA RECORDS, ED BANGER RECORDS and SUB CLUB party each day in the fabulous Bollywood Arena.
The burgeoning line up is augmented by festival headliners THE PRODIGY, BIFFY CLYRO, BASEMENT JAXX and DIZZEE RASCAL.
