Publishing company Warner/Chapel was quick to react to Glen Hansard's Oscar win. They signed the Irish Frames frontman just days after his Academy Awards victory.
The songwriting duo of Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova will have their catalogue administered by Warner/Chappel. This will include the songs Glen wrote for his band The Frames, songs from Orglova's debut 'The Swell Season', and the Academy Award winning soundtrack for the movie 'Once'.
Glen and Marketa won the Oscar for Best Original Song with 'Falling Slowly' from the movie 'Once'. In accepting the award, Hansard, who was also the star of the film, said that they made the entire movie for $100,000.
Hansard is a former Dublin busker. Irglova, a Czech singer and songwriter.
Both artists also featured on the soundtrack to the Bob Dylan film 'I'm Not There'.
