The Killers are desperate for a break - because they don't like each other any more.
The 'Human' rockers' friendships have been put to the test after spending months on the road together and are worried they will split up if they don't have some time apart soon.
However, with a crammed schedule of festival shows and their current Australian tour, the band - singer Brandon Flowers, guitarist Dave Keuning, drummer Ronnie Vannucci Jr. and bassist Mark Stoermer - look unlikely to be able to take time off until 2010. The group's management and lawyers are believed to be desperately trying to find a way to adjust their schedule.
A source told Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: "They're exhausted. They haven't had a break since they first formed and it has started getting to them.
"When they started out they were all good friends but they just don't seem to get on any more.
"Brandon tries to be a peacemaker but when he loses it the whole band falls apart. They know taking a break could damage their career but they can't see a way out and they don't want to split."
It has been claimed relations between the group are so bad they insist on travelling separately to concerts.
A spokesperson for the group insisted the band are fine and they are not planning ahead as far as 2010.
