Drummer Ronnie Vannucci admits the rockers would unlawfully enter the percussion room at their local university because their working schedules made it difficult to rehearse at home.
He explained: : "When The Killers started we used to practice in my garage but everybody's work schedules screwed up so we could only practice late at night.
"So we used to break into Ham Hall at the University of Las Vegas to practice there. We'd break into the percussion room, use all the stuff, and carefully put everything back.
"We practiced for hours. I can remember writing 'Glamorous Indie Rock & Roll' and 'Somebody Told Me' in that room.'
The 'Mr. Brightside' hitmakers - also comprising singer Brandon Flowers, guitarist Dave Keuning and bassist Mark Stoermer ' no longer have to enter the building by illicit means as Ronnie was presented with the keys to the building when he received his diploma at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, earlier this year.
He added in an interview with Q magazine: 'Now we can go in any time we want."
