The Military Wives Choir has scooped the Christmas number one with their single, Wherever You Are. They sold more more copies than the rest of the top 12 combined reports the BBC.
The 100-strong choir was put together by Gareth Malone for the BBC Two series The Choir, which culminated in a performance at the Royal Albert Hall.
Earlier this week, the government said it would donate the VAT raised on the single to charities supporting servicemen and women.
The campaign to get Nirvana 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' to number one failed to get the song into the Top 10.
'Smells Like Teen Spirit' debuted at number 11 this week. The Facebook campaign was set-up to attempt to stop Simon Cowell's X-Factor winners from having the number one Christmas song but as it turned out that one missed out too.
X-Factor winners Little Mix came in second place with 'Cannonball', a Damien Rice cover.
