Renowned as one of Britain's most exciting live bands, The Wombats are poised to storm back to the live arena with an intimate run of dates which will represent their first full UK tour since November 2008. The shows will follow the September 27th release of their new single 'Tokyo (Vampires & Wolves)' that recently received its world premiere on Zane Lowe's Radio 1 show. Their eagerly anticipated second album, title to be confirmed, will be released towards the end of the year.
Already confirmed as one of the major attractions on Australia's touring festival Parklife that runs from September 25th to October 4th, The Wombats' UK tour offers a rare chance to see the band up-close and personal. The tour includes a London date at Heaven and culminates with a special homecoming show at Liverpool's Static Galleries:

The Wombats are about to return to Los Angeles to complete work on their second album with producer Rich Costey (Muse, Interpol, Franz Ferdinand) having already collaborated on the project with Jacknife Lee (U2, Snow Patrol, R.E.M.) and Eric Valentine (Queens of the Stone Age, Lostprophets). The immediately infectious punky hooks that characterised their debut album are firmly in place, but this time around the band have been eager to experiment with more leftfield ideas and a darker lyrical approach.
