The xx are to switch on the Christmas lights in Putney, London next month.
The band, who met at Putney's Elliott School, will turn on the lights at 6pm (GMT) on December 3 at the area's Christmas market.
The band won't, however, be treating the crowd to a live set, with local group fiN instead providing live music. There will also be a bouncy castle, a carousel and a 33-foot Christmas tree.
The xx might be the most indie of all the celebrities who've been asked to switch on Christmas lights in the capital. Rihanna turned on the lights at the Westfield shopping centre while Olly Murs flicked the switch at Old Spitalfields Market.
Elsewhere in the UK, current Doctor Who actor Matt Smith lit up Cardiff and Birmingham saw singer Roy Wood do the honours. Rochdale had to make do with ex-Blue singer Simon Webbe.
