The 23-year-old British actor, who has starred in the Potter films for 10 years, said he believes he was only chosen for the part because he's the spitting image of the character, as described in writer JK Rowling's books.
He also added that his co-stars Emma Watson, Daniel Radcliffe, and Rupert Grint were similarly picked for their roles.
He told UK magazine Live: 'Let's be honest, we weren't picked for Harry Potter for our acting ability – it was because we looked like the characters as they'd been written.
'We started out as rank amateurs, and we'll be lucky if we've learned something over the past 10 years.”
He added: 'It's a question of what we do with that now. Where we go from here.'
