Trent Reznor will provide the score to a new film depicting the life of Mark Zuckerberg.
The film will be called 'The Social Network' and features a logo remarkably similar to Zuckerberg's famed site Facebook and has the tag line You don't get to 500 million friends without making a few enemies.
In a message on nin.com, Reznor explains his commitment.
"David Fincher started inquiring about my interest in scoring his upcoming film, 'The Social Network'. Yeah, the movie about the founding of Facebook," he says. "I've always loved David's work but quite honestly I wondered what would draw him to tell that story. When I actually read the script and realized what he was up to, I said goodbye to that free time I had planned. Atticus Ross and I have been on a creative roll so I asked him if he wanted to work on this with me and we signed on."
Now Reznor says he is "nearing completion" and has to whittle his talents down to an album-length release.
He says there will be an album available and it should be in stores "a couple of weeks" ahead of the film's US opening on October 1st.
