Beverly McClendon claims that her daughter Jewel Ciera was flown to New York in November 2009 behind her back after replying to a casting call, ABC News reported.
The disgruntled mother has filed a lawsuit against Warner Bros Entertainment, Tyra Banks and the executive producers of the chatshow, arguing that under labour laws in her home state of Georgia, producers should have sought parental consent for her daughter to fly to New York, stay alone in a hotel room and appear on television.
The suit argues that the show was 'undoubtedly watched by sexual deviants, perverts and paedophiles alike'.
She is seeking compensatory damages of $1m, punitive damages of $2m, and an injunction against further distribution of her child's TV appearance.
