Victoria Beckham couldn't help laughing when her son asked her why she only ever "sang background" in the Spice Girls.
The star was in the British group with Mel B, Emma Bunton, Geri Halliwell and Mel C and has made no secret that she wasn't the best singer in the band.
The fivesome have teamed up several times recently, for the London 2012 Olympic Games closing ceremony and to promote Viva Forever!, a musical based on their songs.
Although she is grateful for the group, which gave her a start in showbiz, Victoria is now a fully-fledged fashion designer. Her children Brooklyn, 13, Romeo, ten, Cruz, seven, and 18-month-old Harper all know about her previous singing career, with Cruz a particular fan.
"I look at the pictures of myself and I think, 'You look so moody.' I get it, I get it. But I really do laugh quite a lot. My team makes me laugh. My kids make me laugh. We were driving around in the car the other day and Cruz wanted to listen to the Spice Girls ad. Afterwards he said, 'Mummy, why was it all you ever did was sing background?'" she giggled to the latest edition of UK Elle magazine. "I like to have a laugh. You know, I've been called comedy gold. I'm just saying."
Victoria is proud of how hard she works and wants her children to understand the importance of giving projects your all. She detests laziness in people, but there is one other characteristic she finds even more appalling.
"I have no time for it at all, when women just don't like women. I don't get it. I think that women need to support women. [When they don't] that probably p**ses me off more than people being lazy," she fumed.
Victoria and her husband David Beckham have spent the last few years living in Los Angeles with their children. Family life is important to the pair and they spend as much time with their kids as possible.
However, Victoria is keen to set the record straight after her husband claimed he always makes breakfast for the brood.
"Well he lied. He lied. Let me tell you now, he is not the one. I'm always like, 'Go and shake daddy and get him out of bed, tell him he has to take you to school,'" she said.
"You know what they say to me, because I'm not the best cook, although I try really hard? They always say to me, 'Mummy, we know that the main ingredient in what you make is love.'"
David recently ended his stint at LA Galaxy and although the couple haven't confirmed it, it's thought they have moved back to the UK for good. Victoria has been spotted out and about in London, with suggestions she wanted to relocate to the capital so she was nearer her fashion business headquarters.
She appears to confirm the claim in the interview. "There was a time when David was playing [soccer], not just for a club, but for his country, so he was very busy and it was just the beginning for me. He wanted to go to Spain, so great, we all went together," she explained. "We are here to support each other and make each other happy. He is so respectful of what I do; I couldn't do it if he wasn't. Now David has finished playing for LA Galaxy and we are starting a new chapter in our lives."
